Kick-off meeting in Tripoli
The Office d’Exploitation du port de Tripoli on 10 March 2021 held the local kick-off meeting
on the presentation of the Be-Ready project to the local entities. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic,
the workshop took place remotely via zoom.
The speakers used a PowerPoint presentation to better explain the project’s focal points.
The workshop’s main points were: general and specific objectives and mechanisms adopted
to deliver the project’s outputs.
The event saw the active participation of prestigious stakeholders such as associations,
committees, municipalities, and Universities. It is worth mentioning: Development for People
and Nature Association (DPNA), Union of AL Fayhaa Municipalities, Environmental
protection committee (EPC), City University, Fishermen Syndicate, Pilot Zaher Shalak, Pilot
AbdulKader Issa, HSE Department of Port of Tripoli, Port of Tripoli Administration, Tripoli
municipality, Mina municipality, Zmerly company, General Directorate of Land and Maritime
Transport Lebanon, Lebanese committee for environment and sustainable development
(LCESD), Health and environment department at the Lebanese University, Service
interprofessionnel de santé au travail du Val d’oise (SISTVO).
The next event is planned for September 2021 in Italy. The University of Genoa and
European Research Institute are organizing the Italian event and getting in touch with local
authorities.
